Freedom: A Bait

When we think of our generations who fought for various kinds of freedom; socially, politically, spiritually; we think of it as empowerment. Something which gives us a choice.
But how good is that choice?
Sartre said, “Man is condemned to be free”.
Isn’t this freedom a bait, to our consciousness.
‘Cause it is tool that has two bloody sharp sides, which cut you really deep.
This power to choose is what empowers us but at the same time, it punishes.
It tangles us into possibilities and makes us indecisive.
Amongst the fight, flight and freeze.
In this heat of the moment, it is what is freezing me.
Freedom has ultimately turn into barrenness of the mind.
It gives hundreds, nah! thousands, of WHY, WHAT IF, IF NOT, COULD BE, etc.
But it steals our ‘one’ because we traded it for ‘many’.
But WHAT IF, I don’t want many, I want my ‘one’.
Seems like I too took the bait again. WHAT IF?
You only throw one line in the water. The hook is meant for one. Many will unfree the one that got hooked.
